July 20, 2005 - At their June 15th, 2005, meeting, the CAAS Panel of Commissioners granted accreditation to ten agencies. Derry Fire Department of Derry, New Hampshire; Mobile Medical Response of Saginaw, Michigan; Medstar Ambulance, Inc. of Clinton Township, Michigan; Rural/Metro of Tennessee, L.P. of Knoxville, Tennessee; North Shore University Hospital Ambulance Service of Syosset, New York; Mutual Aid Ambulance Service, Inc., of Greensburg, Pennsylvania; Mecklenburg EMS Agency of Charlotte, North Carolina; and Advanced Medical Transport of Central IL, of Peoria, Illinois, all received their full three-year reaccreditations.

Platte Valley Ambulance Service of Brighton, Colorado, and American Medical Response of Independence, Missouri, received their initial three-year accreditations from CAAS at the June Panel meeting. Hospital-based, Platte Valley covers a mainly suburban service area of about 31,000 population. Carl A. Craigle, Jr., Chief Paramedic, commented on the accreditation process, “While the application process has been intense, it has truly been a pleasure working with the CAAS team.” American Medical Response, Independence, Missouri, is a private agency covering an urban service area of approximately 113,000 population. Chad Fahlenkamp, Plains Operations Director for American Medical Response noted “Our employees and leaders have been committed to excellence. The review and ultimate vote of the CAAS Panel confirms that commitment. We are truly honored. Each of our team members worked hard to achieve the ultimate distinction of accreditation.”
