The Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services (CAAS) Accredits Eleven Agencies in July 04
At their July 6th, 2004, meeting, the CAAS Panel of Commissioners granted accreditation to eleven agencies.
August 12, 2004 - At their July 6th, 2004, meeting, the CAAS Panel of Commissioners granted accreditation to eleven agencies. Rural Metro Ambulance of Sioux Falls became the first CAAS-accredited agency in the state of South Dakota. Hall Ambulance Service, Inc., of Bakersfield, California, and Westmed Ambulance Service, Inc., of Irwindale, California, are the twelfth and thirteenth agencies to accredit in that state. Metropolitan Ambulance Services Trust (MAST), of Kansas City, also achieved its accreditation, bringing the number of CAAS-accredited agencies to 92 in a total of 30 states across the country.
Reaccrediting agencies included American Medical Response Northwest, Portland, Oregon; Carrollton Fire Department, Carrollton, Texas; LifeCare Ambulance Service, Battle Creek, Michigan; Rural/Metro Ambulance, Orlando, Florida; Alamo Ambulance Service, Inc., Poughkeepsie, New York; Mobile Life Support Services, Inc., Newburgh, New York; and City of West Des Moines Emergency Medical Services, West Des Moines, Iowa.
