Sunstar Passes State Inspection with Perfect Report
The Countywide Ambulance Services gets “A”s in all categories
In a report issued this week by the state of Florida Department of Health/Bureau of Emergency Medical Services, Pinellas County’s Sunstar paramedic ambulance service rated high marks across all inspection categories. The inspection was rated “excellent” overall and found no deficiencies in all areas of concern: service records, facilities, vehicle inspections and equipment testings.
Furthermore, the state agency’s report included these comments, “The citizens and visitors of Pinellas County can be proud of this well-run, professional service. Good job. Keep up the good work.
The Bureau of Emergency Medical Services is responsible for the statewide regulation of emergency medical technicians (EMTs) and paramedics; EMT and paramedic training programs; and ambulance services and their vehicles. Random inspections occur throughout the state to assure that EMS providers are in compliance with the minimum EMS standards established by state law.
“We’re very proud of our ambulance service,” says C.T. “Chuck” Kearns, director of Pinellas County EMS & Fire Administration, “this is one more indicator that we’re providing the very best emergency medical care possible to the citizens of Pinellas County.
