CAAS Panel of Commissioners Grants Accreditation to 18 Agencies


The CAAS Panel of Commissioners granted three agencies their first accreditation during the first two quarters of 2009.  Earning this distinction was Puckett EMS, Austell, Georgia.  The second newly-accredited agency was STAT EMS of Flint, Michigan.  There are now 25 CAAS accredited agencies in Michigan. AMR Dona Ana County, Las Cruces, New Mexico, was the third new agency which gained panel approval.

An additional 15 agencies were reaccredited during the first half of 2009. In Florida, Coast Health Systems of Rockledge was among those earning reaccreditation.  Also in the East, were Tri Community South EMS, Bethal Park, Pennsylvania, and West Care EMS, Sylva, North Carolina.

From the South, reaccredited agencies were AMR Central Mississippi from Jackson, Mississippi, AMR Monroe, Monroe, Louisiana, and AMR South Mississippi, Gulfport, Mississippi. Those reaccredited from the Midwest were North Memorial Ambulance, Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, and AMR Independence, from Independence, Missouri.

Albuquerque Ambulance from Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Southwest Ambulance of Tucson, Arizona, headed agencies from the Southwest.  On the West Coast, Metro West Ambulance, Hillsboro, Oregon, and Ambu Serve, Gardena, California, were granted reaccreditation.  Also from Southern California were AMR Los Angeles from Los Angeles, AMR Riverside, Riverside, and AMR San Bernardino, Rancho Cucumonga.

The next quarterly meeting of the CAAS Panel of Commissioners is scheduled for September 14, 2009.
