Huron Valley Ambulance Announces "Stars of Life"
ANN ARBOR, MICH. Five Huron Valley Ambulance employees have been chosen from several company divisions as this year's Stars of Life. They are as follows: Paramedic Eric Burdick from western operations; Paramedic Layne Caskey from Education; Paramedic Jeff Hannah from eastern operations; Paramedic Eric Marshall from central operations; and Dawn Richards from Administration.
Jeff Hannah will also represent HVA May 4 to 7 at the American Ambulance Association's annual Stars of Life event in Washington, DC. Jeff has been with HVA for over 18 years, spending 12 years working with new employees. His latest achievement includes upgrading the orientation program for new employees. "Jeff's attention to detail is what makes him an outstanding paramedic and caregiver," states HVA vice president Paul Hood. Jeff and his wife Carrie live in Chelsea.
The "Stars" were selected by HVA management from a pool of applicants who received "exceeds standards" performance appraisals in the past year. They will receive recognition during HVA's Annual EMS Recognition Awards on May 22.
The AAA Stars of Life celebration recognizes and honors dedicated ambulance service personnel. While in Washington, Hannah will meet with legislators to discuss issues important to the emergency medical services profession. The program seeks to raise visibility for ambulance industry issues and encourage involvement in national ambulance service issues.
HVA is a nationally accredited, nonprofit ambulance service that covers Washtenaw, western Wayne and southwest Oakland counties.
