CAAS Accredits Seven Agencies in June 2007At its June 18, 2007, meeting, the CAAS Panel of Commissioners granted full three-year accreditations to two new agencies: Metro Atlanta Ambulance Service, Marietta, Georgia and Elizabeth Township Area EMS, Elizabeth Township, Pennsylvania. Five agencies received their full three-year reaccreditations, including Huron Valley Ambulance, Inc., Ann Arbor, Michigan; National EMS, Inc., Conyers, Georgia; Plano Fire Department, Plano, Texas; Professional Med Team Inc., Muskegon, Michigan, and Carrollton Fire Department, Carrollton, Texas. There are currently 106 CAAS-accredited agencies in 34 U.S. states and two Canadian provinces, Nova Scotia and Alberta. More than 100 agencies are working on new applications. The CAAS Panel of Commissioners meets quarterly to consider submissions from both new agencies and those seeking three-year reaccreditations. The CAAS-accredited agencies appear on the newly designed CAAS web site Google map at www.caas.org. A new site design also allows you to ask and receive answers to frequently asked questions about accreditation, view in-depth profiles of CAAS-accredited agencies, and register for CAAS seminars and events online.
